Security & Safe Room Doors For Severe Weather

Storm Shelter door with lock box.
Vault Pro's Vault, Security & Safe Room Doors take on a different stance when used on the exterior of the home, business or storm shelter.

Exposure to the elements (sun, rain, snow & tornado's) is a major concern when dealing with steel products.  The sun alone will destroy most coatings and the rain or snow will be right behind it to rust up moving parts that aren't well sealed or properly weather proofed.  Tornado's of course will damage just about anything in it's path and usually tear locks and handles off of normal vault doors.

The fact that these doors are exposed to the outdoors also exposes them to potential criminal activity that may result in an attempted break in.

For Vault, Security & Safe Room Doors that are intended to be exposed to the weather, Vault Pro goes the extra mile ensuring that any and all seams are sealed completely, all steel surfaces are properly prepped, primed and coated with a U.V. protected Marine Grade finish.

Heavy duty lock box protects lock from elements.
Protecting the lock & handle, Vault Pro heavy hinges a 1/4" steel protective box completely over both the lock and handle. Vault Pro's known for tight tolerances and we demonstrated it once again with a lock cover that closes with less than 1/16" gap over the surface of the door when locked.  We don't just call it quits after that...we have put this protective cover to the test.  Notice the rain gutter covering the top three sides of the lock & handle, it isn't there just to channel the water away...it is built to exactly match the inside of the lock box to support it when it is closed and locked. If the box itself is beat repeatedly during an attack or by tornado debris the rain gutter & support does not allow the protective box to move from it's original position...even after repeated blows from a 16 lb. sledge hammer.  When a siliconized gasket is applied, water is channeled away from potentially sensitive area's of the door keeping the lock and handle dry and functioning even in the worst of storms or attempted break in.

Stay safe,

Tony

Vault Pro’s 2015 Annual Summer Picnic

A Day at Knott's Berry Farm

One of the ways I like to show my appreciation to my staff and their families is our Annual Summer Picnic. It is our chance to get out of the shop for some family fun and time together…away from work…this year’s picnic did not disappoint.
On Thursday, August 20th, for our 2015 Summer Picnic, Vault Pro invaded Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park in Buena Park, California. That’s right; Vault Pro took the entire day off and went out to play.

Knott’s opened at 10:00am so everyone had a chance to sleep in, get to the park, ride the rides and play all day. I got soaked on the Roaring Rapids, and then I got held up by two guys on the train. Check out our Shop Foreman and his wife in Camp Snoopy…Go Juan!

Then we all met at Mrs. Knott’s Famous Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The Vault Pro family has grown to 55 in all, and all of us sat down all at once to eat, drink and enjoy one another’s company. If you ever visit Knott’s, be sure to have a piece of Boysenberry Pie at Mrs. Knott’s Famous Chicken Dinner Restaurant.

There was still time to ride a couple of rides and see a few more stores before the park closed so off we went for more fun. From the top of the Ferris Wheel I think I got the best view of the park with the sun setting and the moon already in the night sky.

My sincere thanks and admiration goes out to each and every one of our staff and family members. I am blessed to know each and every one of you and look forward to working with you every day.

Tony

Custom Modular Walk-in Gun Room For Almost Any Space

How to Fit a Custom Gun Room to an Existing Space

Custom Modular Walk in Gun Room for secret installation.

Custom Modular Walk in Gun Room Interior.
One of the biggest challenges we receive are requests for shelters, safe rooms or walk in vault rooms for existing spaces. The answer is our modular shelter design system. Regardless of the space you need secure, Vault Pro has a solution for you. Our team designs and builds Custom Modular Walk-in Vaults, Gun Rooms or Storm Shelters for all types of homes or business.
Walk in Gun Room Interior Lighting

This featured Custom & Modular Walk-in Gun Room was built with a touch of class, to be carried in and set up by two people and fit into an existing walk-in closet.

Our client chose 1/4" bent and reinforced steel vault panels with the maximum amount of Max-Fire 2300° Fireproofing, Wimbledon White exterior, a tan interior and fully adjustable shelves and gun racks made from 1" Oak Wood. Above the gun racks, we over built the shelving by customizing 10 ga. steel shelves
Safe & Secure Modular Construction
and supports that are fully adjustable, configurable and strong enough to handle an unlimited amount of ammo (we tested the steel shelves at 750lbs.). The lighting and electrical package includes multiple dual gang electrical outlets with stainless steel cover plates and stainless steel adorned lighting fixtures.

When all the panels (walls, ceiling and vault door) are bolted together using grade 8 bolts, nylock nuts, then properly anchored to the foundation, this vault is designed and built to exceed all
FEMA 320 and ICC-500 standards. Too bad this custom vault room will be concealed inside of a closet. It looks classy enough to stand alone and be seen, yet strong enough to withstand a tornado or house fire.
Custom Oak Shelves Fully Adjustable

If your home is already built or in the planning stages and you need a custom solution to your gun storage, walk in vault or storm shelter, no one does it better than Vault Pro. Call and let one of our world class Vault Pro's show you just how affordable and easy a custom safe room can be.

California Deer Association

California Deer Association

It’s August and if you are a deer hunter in California you know what that means…”Deer Season!”

Silver Eagle 630 in Hunter Green Gloss with CDA logo.
As a proud sponsor and supporter of the California Deer Association (CDA), Vault Pro attends the CDA’s annual banquet at the Elks Lodge in San Bernardino. The banquet is an opportunity for the CDA to show appreciation to its supporters & members and raise money for their principal goal of wildlife conservation and habitat improvement. Money is raised thru a silent and live auction as well as many different raffles and drawings. This year prime rib was on the menu and like every year we ate too much, had a couple of drinks and enjoyed ourselves immensely. This year my son Josh won a European boar hunt. We haven’t yet scheduled the trip but will keep you all posted when we do. Lots of guns, hunts and gear are given away. Check out the Hunter Green Gloss, Silver Eagle 630 safe we donated to the auction this year.

I owe big thanks Dave Mahosky and Jim Adams for keeping in touch and hosting us this year. Thank you both for helping to keep the CDA alive and moving in the right direction. I will be looking forward to next year’s event and hope to help garner support for the CDA.

Feel free to visit the California Deer Association at: www.caldeer.org

Thanks for stopping by.

Stainless Steel Vault Door made in USA

Stainless Steel Vault Door

American made stainless steel vault door by Vault Pro USA
Stainless Steel Vault Door made in USA
At 96" tall x 36" wide and solid stainless steel, you can't get a door like this anywhere else. It had to be custom built by Vault Pro.

Most of our competitors that use stainless steel do so as a laminate or veneer for looks and use really thin material (1/16" or thinner). It does look good, however, it does nothing for the structural integrity or security of the product they build. If the stainless used is 1/8" thick or less, it can be torch cut and does nothing more than look good. What's the use in that?

Vault Pro uses stainless steel handles & hinge caps on
stainless steel vault door and frame
100% Stainless Steel Door and Frame
some of our higher line safes and vault doors. Stainless steel adorns our lights and cover plates in Vault Pro Safe Rooms and Storm Shelters. We also use thicker stainless steel inside some of our vault and safe doors where the possibility of torch cutting exists.

On this 100% American Made Solid Stainless Steel Vault Door a Custom Stainless Steel dual cam system keeps the locking bolts perfectly aligned, true and running smoothly. The locking bolts, hinges, hinge pins, re-lockers, bolt carriage & bolt guides, risers, towers, springs, internal release and everything else is custom built using Stainless Steel.

The frame & door front plate as well as the underpinnings are all at least 1/4" or thicker stainless steel. Handle shaft and carriage actuator arms are 3/4" solid stainless for well beyond a lifetime of use. Check out the stainless steel 5-prong handle and matching hinge caps.

If you need a Custom Vault or Safe Door that is impervious to torch cutting, won't rust in weather and will look fantastic for the rest of your life...stainless steel is the material to use and Vault Pro is the only choice.

Custom Modular Safe Rooms

Modular Safe Room/Storm Shelter
Vault Pro's Custom Modular Safe Rooms can be built into many shapes & sizes.  Some Vault Pro Safe Rooms require the pieces to be cut and built in small panels so they can be moved thru a home or office and assembled in a location that isn't easily assessable to large pieces.  Some are built so large they have to be shipped on flat-bed trucks and craned off at their location, set in place on a foundation and will likely never to be moved. Others can be as large as we can make them so long as they are deliverable by lift gate truck. This is one of those.

Shelter Safe Room with Emergency Escape Hatch
Built as large as possible and still able to be delivered by lift gate truck, this custom two piece Modular Safe Room/Storm Shelter is built using 3 gauge steel (1/4") and re-supported with U-Channel Reinforcements every 24" across every surface both vertically and horizontally.  By far exceeding all FEMA recommendations and ICC-500/361 standards this Storm Shelter/Safe Room also comes complete with Max-Fire 2300 Ceramic Fireproofing, two Closable Ballistic Resistant Vents, Full Stainless Steel Adorned Lighting, Electrical and completely paneled in a plush and attractive Tan Rontex material.

Easy Entry with ADA Regulation In-Swing Door
Entry is easy thru an ADA (Americans with Disability Act) regulation In-swinging Elite Series 2" Step System Vault Door with a minimum of 36" clear thru space.  All Vault Pro Safe Room Doors are equipped with 18-bolt locking systems, multiple re-lockers, Internal Releases, American Made Digital Locks and seal snug and tight against Palusol® gaskets that are designed to swell and better seal the door in the case of fire.

Escape hatch provides a secondary means of egress.
In the case the main door is blocked by debris or distorted in a way that renders it unusable, no true Safe Room or Tornado Shelter is complete without a secondary means of egress.  Secondary means of egress can be accomplished by an In-swing hinged Executive Series Pro Hatch.  Keeping this hatch locked tight and sealed against the frame are 10 independently rotating locking bolts.  However, this Pro Escape Hatch is easily opened by a standard Internal Release simple enough that a five year old can operate it, open the hatch and exit the Safe Room.

We build shelter - safe rooms to any size & standard.
Vault Pro can custom build Safe Rooms, Storm Shelters and Safe Doors to match any standards, specifications, size or shape. Vault Pro can also provide emergency rations, first aid kits, storage seating and just about anything else you may need to complete your Walk-In Vault. Are you wondering how big a shelter and what features you might need for your home or business? Don't hesitate to call Vault Pro with any questions or concerns. When your life is on the line, Vault Pro has you covered. 800-299-6929

Gold Storage Safe

gold storage safe made in USA
Custom Gold Storage Safe
Gold Storage Safe

Held and traded among gold reserves, central banks and bullion dealers is the 400-troy ounce gold ingot or gold bar (12.4 kg or 438.9 ounces).  At just under 28 lbs. per bar, the weight can add up in a hurry if you can afford to collect em. If you can afford to collect em, Vault Pro can build you a vault to keep em safe.

gold bullion safe testing
Stu and Juan doing a little informal
weight testing of safe shelves.
We had a lot of fun building this custom safe. Like one we built for the United States Mint, we knew what was going into the safe (which makes it more interesting). This behemoth stands over 90" tall and is built specifically to Safe keep at least 500 lbs. of gold on each shelf. We knew our standard shelves weren't made to support 500 lbs. per shelf, but what will they hold was the question... check out our welders Stu & Juan testing the standard shelving. Pretty impressive.

Gold bullion storage safe
Four of our top welders; Omar, Juan, Stu, Manny
Over built using multiple layers of both Steel & Stainless, we included an American Made S&G Spy-Proof lock with locking dial, 4-way active bolt locking system and Titan 4+1 Re-locking system plus two remote & reverse firing re-lockers in this custom fit 2" Step System Door. Now that’s locked up! Thru-out the safe we included Max-Fire Ceramic 2300° Fireproofing, motion activated American Made L.E.D. Lighting & Electrical as well as custom heavy duty & adjustable shelves that were completely load tested to hold at least 750 lbs. per shelf (over 4000 lbs. using actual weights not welders).

gold storage safe and vault door size comparison
Gold Storage Safe next to one of our 80" tall vault doors.
Check out the safe standing next to an 80" tall vault door (85" with flange & re-bar extensions) standing on a 5" pallet (90" total).  The safe is still taller and is as tall as I can build and still get it into a truck without having to lay it down.

More exciting products coming. Stay tuned.

How big of a safe do I need?

How big of a safe do I need?” is a common question and I regularly say, "Get a bigger safe than you need right now. Your Collections will grow and you will need more room for the things you want to safe keep.”

I have caught a lot of flak over the years for saying so and have even been blamed for just trying to make more money, but I know a lot of people who have several safes and are cramming things in every which way and still need more room. Case in point:

My friend in Tennessee…let’s just call him “Mr. L.” was in a similar situation so he decided to stop buying safes and go with a Custom Modular Walk-In Vault that would take care of everything he needed to safe keep. The first picture is of the Vault at Vault Pro before we sent it to him, the rest of the pictures have been sent to us by Mr. L. with a short note from his wife. Take a look.

Mr. L’s Custom 17-Piece Modular Walk-In Vault is 72” width x 96” depth and build in 24” pieces that bolt together using grade 8 bolts & Nylock nuts for maximum strength. Each piece is c-channel reinforced and fireproofed using both Ceramic 2300° Maxfire H-P Fireproofing, X-Rate Fireboard and is covered with Rontex Carpeted Panels.

Gun racks and bottom shelf are stained solid oak that stack 4 to 5 deep and several rows across and the ammo shelving is all 10 ga. steel in order to support a maximum amount of ammo without question. Pistols are stored on display and are simple to grab.

This Vault also has full lighting and electrical as well as an Elite Series Vault Door with Digital Lock and multiple re-lockers for maximum security.

Here is the note from Mr. L and what he has to say about his new Vault Pro modular walk-in vault room.

"Tony here are some pictures I took today at lunch of the safe...  I am very happy and satisfied with it. It is super nice and built very good. Give your employees thumbs up from me.

I don't think I had it built big enough. My wife said for me to quit buying guns and it would be perfect.

Thank you,
Mr. L.

And thank you Mr. L. for choosing Vault Pro.

If you have a really large collection of guns and collectibles, stop cramming them in small safes. Call us for a custom, secure solution for your valuables.

Keep it safe.
