While it was my first time attending the "Hands on Shooting Sports Fair" at Mike Raahague Shooting Enterprises in Corona Ca., I think I can speak for just about all who attended when I say this years event was second to none.
When I was loading up the truck with all the different colors and sizes of safes and vault doors, I never could have imagined what was about to take place over the next three days.
The sunburn on my face (my forehead and nose is already peeling) and the dust blowing in the wind didn't stop me from meeting a lot of fantastic people, lots of women, kids and families. I ate Tri-tip & drank the most unbelievable strawberry & raspberry lemonade I have ever had. I got brain freeze in the heat from a strawberry smoothie and ate fresh kettle corn and bbq until I almost couldn't move. I saw kids fishing for catfish & shooting arrows at zombie targets. Oh yea...did I mention the Hands-On Shooting. Top gun manufacturers like Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Mossberg, Berretta, Glock, Benelli, Bushmaster, Marlin, Walther, Remington, Verona, Springfield Armory, Savage Arms & HK were in attendance to show off their latest works of art, ready and willing to show proper safety & handling and let you take aim and pull the trigger.
My son (Josh) couldn't get the smile off of his face after he shot the 1919 for the first time and then got to witness the only original Gaitlin gun on the west coast blast away a huge drum of ammo in less than 3 seconds. There were 50 cals, cannons, Shotguns, Rifles, handguns, Air soft and bb guns, knives, Slingshots & Archery. There was a phenomenal Dog Show and Dog Training including Rattle Snake Training for Dogs and their humans. Seminars on Gun Laws & the 2nd Amendment...California Gun Laws (including pending laws) & Amendment Activism. You could learn about Quail & Chukar Hunting, Predator Hunting, Waterfowl Hunting as well as Fending Off and Disarming Attackers.
The Hands on Shooting Sports Fair" at Mike Raahague Shooting Enterprises in Corona Ca is a one of a kind event. I have never seen anything like it anywhere else. I am proud to have been a part of it and would like to thank Turners Outdoorsman & Legacy Sports for putting it all together. A Special Thanks to the Raahague family for everything.
Mike Raahague passed May 6th of this year. My condolences to all that knew and loved him.
